As a sketchbook assignment, students in 2D Studio Art were given the assignment to create a pattern that would be easily repeatable with the use of a photocopier. We looked at the work of contemporary artist Julia Rothman and used her technique for creating a design that could be tiled. Students could make their final piece as large as they wanted as long as they added color to some areas using mediums of their choosing.

Pots for Plants
Students in Ceramics were asked to choose from a variety of plants presented to them this week. Once they selected their plant, they sketched it in their sketchbooks, and then designed a variety of forms as homes for their plant considering it's size and shape. They then constructed their pots for their plants and finally glazed them. They were all on exhibit in the library for several weeks before students took them home.
